About

Magazine

X Magazine is a fresh, new, online magazine created by Jack Jailer. Issue themes vary from season to season, ensuring each is vibrant and fashion forward.

The project was founded in late 2012 and has gone on to produce three groundbreaking issues since. In March 2013, X Magazine Spring '13 took Stardoll by storm, receiving over 120 comments and over 2000 views, it landed itself as one of the most popular user created magazines in years.

In July 2013, during TTTFW, X released it's second issue, headlining the penultimate evening of the fashion week - this issue was a mini issue meaning it possessed less content. The issue followed a "retro Mexico" theme and wowed readers with it's inspiring articles, loud editorials and colourful graphics. X Summer '13 was the first ever Stardoll magazine to feature a .gif image.

October 2013 marked the release of XIII, which was marketed as the final issue of X Magazine. This issue tackled many controversial topics include androgyny, self worship, and the gender binary. There were mixed opinions on the issue, but many were sad to see X Magazine come to a close.

After a three month hiatus, X Magazine returned with XIV, the rebirth of X Magazine itself. This issue currently remains in planning stages but is set to be released by Spring 2014.

Apparel

X Apparel is a minimalist, street style fashion line consisting of digitally created clothing by Jack Jailer. The first collection was released in July 2013, just days after the second issue of X Magazine. It displayed plainly designed items in hues of pale corals and black. The inspiration behind this collection was the legend of house culture clashed with runway trends. The collection received many positive reviews and was a part of TTTFW, beside many other incredible fashion collections. There were 5 outfits and 16 pieces overall.

The second and most recent collection was available to view in October 2013, a short while before XIII. This collection was different in the sense that it featured more outfits, that of which showcased much more detail and personal flare. The collection was inspired by the aesthetics of Nevada & Arizona, "life on the road", and modern twists on retro classics. There were 6 outfits and 26 pieces in total.

Both X Apparel collections were displayed as a store layout, with custom designed mannequins and backdrops - this is what many critics claimed set it apart from other user designed collections.
